Son of Time

It is time to build. Having designed their spectacular statements, Diamond Atelier and TW Steel can’t wait to chop, cut, bend, sow and repeat.

After stripping down the Yamaha XSR900 to the chassis, mainframe and engine, the Diamond Atelier team set to building something very unusual. Working with trusted partners such as KRT, the custom bike pioneers mixed, matched, mended and amended everything from the handlebars, lowered of course, to the cut down harness for the electronics.

While Diamond Atelier worked hard in their Munich workshop, the horology masterminds at TW Steel channelled that intrepid design all the way from Germany and fused it with their own bold and effortless style.

A big calibre 6S21 chronograph movement is built to power the ‘Æon’ Special Edition. Infusing the unmistakable Son of Time DNA into the rugged Maverick base model, a grey sunray sandwich dial is developed incorporating the Son of Time logo.

The KRT Aluminium body is custom made for the model and provides a light weight, ultra-strong structure with a stripped-down aesthetic.

As the brand name suggests, the watch case is constructed from the best steel available. For extra durability, the 316L sandblasted steel case sports a hardened mineral crystal with sapphire coating.

Despite never having ridden a XSR900, yet alone worked on one, Diamond Atelier upped tools and got to it, building one of the rawest pieces of custom cafe racers the world has ever seen.

We took signature attributes of our past builds which helped shaping our style We force ourselves to level up a notch with each and every bike we build. This is the key to our steady progress.
