Son of Time

The Son of Time is driven by craftsmanship. Having imagined the best possible creation in their respective field, Ton and Roderick dive into the worlds of steel, leather and chrome to build their ultimate statement.

Taking no prisoners, The Son of Time bike will be fully customized. Gone are many unnecessary parts that add weight and define the standard machine. In their place Roderick builds a picture of a very different bike with a number of specialist parts and unique, one-off Numbnuts items.

On the other side of the city at the TW Steel headquarters, Chief Designer Ton Cobelens works his magic to create the Son of Time timepiece. Featuring handcrafted elements, a beautiful Swiss-made mechanical Tourbillon movement for power and high quality Ostrich leather for the strap, the timepiece is built to stop hearts.

The Son of Time watch is built around a state of the art and technically complicated mechanical tourbillon movement. This prestigious masterpiece is Swiss made and mounted by hand. Add handcrafted elements such as the case, crown, carbon dial and leather strap to the mix and it’s clear the Son of Time watch is a horological masterpiece.

Bespoke engine covers, air intake, fuel tank and seat unit give the Son of Time its identity, all built around a heavily modified frame. Further trick parts from brands such as Dymag, Brembo and K-Tech continue to build a picture of a bike ready to cut loose and find speed.

Staying true to handmade craftsmanship, we teamed up with strap expert DStrap to create a premium, handmade strap. Made from leather of an ostrich’s leg, the strap is stitched with the finest Irish cotton waxed thread and, in line with the Son of Time’s colour scheme, finished with distinctive red sealing wax. Making the connection with the custom bike, TW Steel’s characteristic two dot rivets are in the shape of engine pistons.

Starting with a chopper based frame and going for a drag bike means a lot of calculating, cutting and welding. Especially the swing arm received special attention. It is extended with a ridiculous 60MM.

Like the engine of a motorbike, the movement is the most important element of a watch. The movement of this timepiece is very strong and reliable.
